Personal Interests

Dr. Schaffer grew up in Northern Minnesota and is a loon enthusiast. Along with her husband, she promotes successful loon breeding seasons by building and deploying artificial nesting platforms. She has three wonderful daughters, two dogs, two cats, a horse and many chickens. In her free time, she enjoys writing, walking in nature, sitting on the dock, canoeing, and listening to the loons.
