Edith Sanford Breast Center

Preventing and Treating Breast Cancer

Edith Sanford Breast Center is changing the future of breast cancer care and research. A national nonprofit organization, Edith Sanford Breast Center has over 24 locations and approximately 200 providers in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota and is an integrated part of Sanford Health.

In 2011, a generous $100 million gift from Denny Sanford launched Edith Sanford Breast Center – a place anyone can turn to for a compassionate, personalized experience. From prevention and screenings to diagnosis, treatment and survivorship, our specialists work every day to find answers and create a care plan designed for you.

This is where your strength meets our science, your courage meets our compassion, and your hope meets our healing.

Early Detection

Breast radiologists, certified mammographers and genetic counselors work together with one goal in mind – protecting your breast health.

We put breakthrough technology in the hands of the region’s only fellowship-trained breast radiologists to help detect breast cancer at its earliest and most curable stages. The Edith Sanford Breast Center screening standard is 3D mammography, which provides women with a more accurate picture of their breast health. This revolutionary method of detection can pinpoint the size, shape and location of irregularities better than ever before, especially for women with dense breast tissue.

At our high-risk breast specialty clinics, we work with women to help them understand their unique risk factors and develop personalized screening plans.

Advanced Treatments

At Edith Sanford Breast Center, we face breast cancer as a team. Our multidisciplinary team of breast experts works to find the most effective treatment for every patient. We offer advanced treatment options including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, breast surgery, reconstruction and clinical trials.

With compassion at the center of everything we do, you and your family will feel seen, heard and safe at every stage of your cancer journey.

Survivorship

Survivorship begins the moment a patient is diagnosed. We provide services, support and connection for survivors and their families through robust survivorship offerings.

Connect. Find opportunities for you and your loved ones to connect with others who’ve gone through cancer treatment with survivorship mentors, retreats and support groups.

Educate. Through survivorship appointments, online resources and newsletters, our team will help educate you with reliable, accurate information as you navigate life with cancer.

Empower. You should feel empowered to live life to the fullest throughout your cancer journey. Find support at survivorship visits, through integrative therapies, and with programs that prioritize the health and well-being of you and your family.
