The Sanford Simulation Center provides simulation-based health care learning in a safe, no-risk environment for Sanford Health employees. Using a combination of task trainers, mannequin simulators and standardized patients, employees learn new skills and improve the process, accuracy and delivery of every aspect of patient care.
The facility helps prepare staff for exceptional care by providing practice in the latest techniques, treatments and collaborative problem-solving methods. It’s also used to research how simulation-based learning can impact clinical judgement, interdisciplinary collaboration and patient outcomes.
Imaging, including a PET/CT scanner for patients, is also being offered for patients within this building as the Sanford MRI Center is closed for renovations. This scanner is used to detect and access cancer, heart disease and brain disorders by providing detailed images of both the structure and function of organs and tissues.
