With extensive training in interventional and structural heart cardiology, Nayan Desai, MD, brings innovative solutions to complex cardiovascular conditions. Since joining Sanford in 2018, Dr. Desai has been dedicated to serving the community with exceptional care. 

He serves as the chair of cardiology at Sanford Health in Bismarck, where he leads with dedication and expertise in advancing cardiovascular care. 

As the director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Dr. Desai oversees cutting-edge diagnostic and minimally invasive interventional procedures, such as transcatheter valve therapies, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients. 

Dr. Desai is also the lead physician for pulmonary hypertension and cardiomyopathy programs, specializing in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and cardiac amyloidosis.
