A Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine
Kevin Swenson is a physician assistant who performs life-saving skills in emergency situations.
He provides immediate care to acutely ill or injured patients including:
- Rapid interpretation of history
- Physical exams
- Radiologic and laboratory testing
- Simple to complex laceration/wound repair
- Fracture splinting and casting
- Airway stabilization
- Advanced venous access
- Prescription of medications
He also serves as Perham Health stroke/CVA medical director and preceptor for medical students, PA students and NP students. He is a former flight paramedic and continues to help with EMS and emergency medicine education when available. He is a past ACLS instructor and field educator.
