USATF – Certified Half Marathon

The 13.1-mile course for the Sioux Falls Half-Marathon is USATF-certified. It is a flat, fast course designed to showcase many of the natural and manmade landmarks. The race begins at Howard Wood Field. The early miles take the runners past Covell Lake and St. Joseph’s Cathedral. At approximately the 4-mile mark, the runners enter the beautifully restored Falls Park, and the city’s namesake, the magnificent threetiered falls of the Big Sioux River. At Falls Park, runners connect with the city’s paved bike trail tracing the shaded banks of the Big Sioux River. The trail bends around the city and takes the runners to the finish at Sertoma Park.
