Pediatrics
At Sanford Children's Hospital, we understand the importance of caring for both child and family. When a child is hospitalized, that child’s entire family in affected. That is why we are committed to providing family-centered care by a highly trained team of pediatric specialists. Our pediatric unit provides comprehensive care to both outpatients and inpatients in our current setting of 39 beds. Our team of pediatric and family medicine physicians works closely with 300 specially trained pediatric staff, all dedicated to serving the special needs of children. This team includes over 30 pediatric subspecialty trained physicians, 16 general pediatricians and more than 100 family medicine physicians. These providers are part of an integrated system of care with over 150 physicians who provide care to children at Sanford Children’s Clinics and Sanford Clinics throughout the region. In addition, physicians at Sanford Children’s are engaged in pediatric research and serve as faculty members of the Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota. Working side by side with Sanford Children’s physicians, a highly trained team of over 300 pediatric staff cares for the needs of children and their families.
