Research

South Dakota Health Research Foundation

Sanford partnered in 1998 with the University of South Dakota School of Medicine to form a non-profit research organization - the South Dakota Health Research Foundation (SDHRF). This Foundation supports a Cardiovascular Research Institute, a Clinical Research Center, Oncology Clinic Research and provides significant internal granting programs.

Sanford Clinic - Clinical Research Services

Why Should I Get Involved With A Research Study?
By participating in a research study, you have a chance to receive medications that may not yet be available to patients through doctor’s prescriptions. Even more importantly, your participation will provide information about the study treatments and may help advance the care for your medical condition. It is only your commitment that makes this a possibility – this is your opportunity to truly make a difference!

Am I A Good Candidate for Research?
We can help you find out. Every research study has very specific qualifications, visit schedules and procedures. Patients must meet certain requirements individual to each study, commit to the time required and agree to undergo all necessary study-related procedures. The Study Coordinator will interview you to determine if you meet the study requirements and answer any questions you might have. Then, you can make a sound decision as to whether or not you would like to participate in a study.

Exceptional Expertise and Support
Sanford Clinic Clinical Research Services is staffed with experienced clinical research staff. They will work with your physician to guide you through each clinical procedure and to explain what is happening with your treatment plan.
